About Death Before Melt
The work outlives us all.
Precious metal is always worth something. Then you find a piece you wouldn’t melt for anything.
Death Before Melt is an archive of precious metal art, built by makers and collectors.
Scattered collections, shared obsession.
So much of this hobby lives in private collections, passing conversations, and pieces you stumble across by chance. We’re bringing some of it together—from familiar designs to custom commissions and one-offs you might never otherwise see.
Find a new favorite, get to know a maker, or discover something you didn’t know you were looking for.
Find more than metal.
If you made it, tell us what went into it. If you’ve lived with it, tell us what makes it worth keeping.
We hope someone finding these pieces years from now will see what we see in them—the craft, the character, and a little of the community around them.
